The Pathfinder ground vehicle system provides a comprehensive educational platform for students to learn about :

  • ESP32 microcontrollers

  • RGB LEDs

  • H-bridge motor control

  • Arduino Development Environment.

It starts with preprogrammed maneuvers. A Bluetooth joystick allows for interactive control of lights, maneuvers and driving speeds up to 11 Mph .

Mobility & Drive System

  • Differential drive system with dual DC gear motors

  • Precise control for linear movement, turning, and pivot maneuvers

  • Designed for use on flat terrain, indoor spaces, and competition surfaces

Onboard Computing

  • ESP-32 microcontroller (main onboard processor)

  • Fully programmable via Arduino IDE (C support)

  • Optional integration with Prometheus AI dashboard for enhanced diagnostics and real-time data overlays

Sensors & Feedback

  • Ultrasonic distance sensor for obstacle detection

  • Joystick output command for direct user control mapping
  • Optional analog acquisition board for signal inputs (voltage, light, temperature)
  • Sensor values displayable via serial console or external LED diagnostics
